Key West is known for its warm weather and laid back, good-times attitude, so you can bet they take their holiday festivities seriously down here. With so many things to do in Key West for Christmas, you won’t even miss the snow up north. You won’t get a White Christmas here, but Key West, with its impressive Key West Holiday Fest, may certainly be the right Christmas for you if you enjoy sun and fun. From holiday parades on land and sea to Christmas light displays, here are The Merry Best Christmas events in Key West.
Key West Harborwalk of Lights
The Key West Historic Seaport comes alive with the spirit of Christmas during the Harborwalk of Lights. More than 60 thousand Christmas lights dazzle visitors nightly in this annual event, where twinkling palm trees, a buoy tree, lobster trap tree and nautical tree take the place of traditional Christmas trees for a uniquely Key West holiday event.
Christmas tree lighting on November 22; the Harbor Walk of Lights runs nightly through December 31.

Key West Hometown Holiday Parade
Everybody loves a parade, especially during the Christmas season, and the Key West Hometown Holiday Parade is just what Santa ordered. Floats, marching bands and so much more travel the parade route through historic Key West starting at Truman Ave and White St at 7 p.m.

Holiday Village and BeLighted Bike Ride
The Wesley House Family Services Holiday Village and BeLighted Bike Ride kick off the Key West holiday season with Christmas family fun. Holiday Village features tons of booths and vendors, including games, crafts, pictures with Santa and other fun Christmas things to do. Then, the BeLighted Bike Ride begins, in which locals deck out their bikes with Christmas lights for a Key West flavored, emissions-free holiday parade.
Friday, December 2nd. Holiday Village runs from 4-8 p.m., followed by the BeLighted Bike Ride at 8 p.m. The parade route starts at Coffee Butler Amphitheater in Truman Waterfront Park and proceeds up Whitehead and Duval Streets.
View the Bike Ride along the route in downtown Key West for free. Holiday Village tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids (kids 3 and under are free). Tickets support Wesley House Family Services.
Lighted Boat Parade
The Schooner Wharf Lighted Boat Parade has been a Key West Christmas staple for over 30 years, and with good reason. Captains deck out boats large and small in their holiday finest to compete for prizes, creating a glimmering Christmas light display in the waters of Key West's Historic Seaport. The judges' booth is located at Schooner's Wharf Bar and Galley. With plenty of things to do on shore, too, this Christmas event is one of the centerpieces of Key West's Bight Before Christmas celebrations.
Saturday, December 9, 2023. Festivities kick off at 6 p.m. and the boat parade begins at 8 p.m.

Holiday Historic Inn Tours
Unlike the mega-hotels that dominate most Florida beach destinations, Key West is known for its small, historic inns. Beautiful any time of year, during the Christmas season these local lodgings go all out to decorate with Christmas lights, trees and other holiday accoutrements. In fact, the scheduled tours of these historic inns garbed in their Christmas finest are among The Merry Best things to do in December in Key West. Trolley service is available to connect the dots on this self-guided tour.
2 Friday evenings in December. In 2023, likely December 9th and 16th, with four to five different inns available to tour on each date.

Enjoy a Christmas Concert with Keys Choral Arts
Keys Choral Arts (KCA) will be performing two Christmas concerts in Key West in 2023. First, don't miss them at the Eaton Street Christmas Stroll on December 10th. But if you do miss them them at the Christmas Stroll -- or even if you don't! -- be sure to enjoy their annual Christmas concert on December 19th at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Key West.

Custom House Holiday Concert and Bazaar
Food, Christmas music, and family fun: The Custom House Holiday Bazaar at the Key West Museum of Art and History has something for everyone! Plus, with vendors aplenty, you can do your Christmas shopping in a festive atmosphere. Choirs and musicians will perform throughout the evening, and after dark there is even a Christmas light show to enjoy.

Eaton Street Christmas Stroll
This unique Key West holiday event is just what it sounds like: a stroll down Eaton Street. But this is no ordinary walk; various venues along the stroll will be hosting Christmas performances and caroling, and of course Eaton St will be decorated in its Christmas finest.

More Holiday Things to Do in Key West, Florida
Violins in Motion, a Christmas concert played entirely by kids ages 6-18 is an incredible performance sure to put anyone in a holiday mood. The Nutcracker is also performed by locals every other year. While the Nutcracker Key West will not be performed in 2023, the show will be back in 2024.
Where to See Christmas Lights in Key West
Looking for the best place to see Christmas lights in Key West? Obviously the Harbor Walk lights at the Historic Seaport are one of the highlights of the holiday season, and best of all, they are free. Of course, another free option is to stroll around historic downtown Key West and take in the Christmas sights and sounds, including some glorious Christmas light displays. Old Town Trolley also offers Holiday Sights and Festive Nights tours during the evening throughout the month of December. Prices are about $30 for adults and $20 for children. The Conch Tour Train's Holiday Lights tour is also offered throughout the month and is priced similarly.
